Dr. Dana D. Mann, a beloved North Shore family physician, dedicated medical educator, and partner at MFM Health (formerly Middleton Family Medicine), passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the age of 46.
Revered throughout the Massachusetts medical community as a “Triple Jumbo,” Dr. Mann spent nearly two decades delivering deeply empathetic, high-quality care to patients across all generations. Known for her profound humanism, patient-first methodology, and active community presence, she leaves behind a stellar clinical legacy and a heartbroken family on the North Shore.

A Dedicated “Triple Jumbo” and Award-Winning Scholar
Dr. Mann’s entire academic and clinical training was rooted at Tufts University, earning her the rare and affectionate moniker of a “Triple Jumbo” within the university network.
She completed her undergraduate studies at Tufts, earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Tufts University School of Medicine in 2005, and finished her rigorous Family Medicine residency through the Tufts program in 2008. Her time at Tufts was defined not only by academic excellence but by a distinct kindness that caught the attention of her peers and mentors:
-
The Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award (2005): Presented to her for demonstrating clinical excellence and outstanding compassion in the delivery of care.
-
The Sidney Zeitler M.D. Memorial Award (2008): Awarded for her significant contributions to the education and training of future family physicians within the Tufts residency ecosystem.
Transforming Care on the North Shore: MFM Health & Beverly Hospital
In 2012, Dr. Mann brought her comprehensive practice to Middleton Family Medicine. As the practice expanded over the years to become MFM Health, she rose to become a formal Partner alongside Dr. Mark Allara, Dr. Meghan Tramontozzi, and Dr. Michael Yoon, helping steer the organization into a leading multi-disciplinary regional health center.
A Diverse and Comprehensive Practice: Board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), Dr. Mann developed profound clinical expertise across multiple areas, building specialized clinics in Women’s Health, Pediatrics, Dermatological procedures, Sports Medicine, and Palliative Care.
During her long-standing clinical affiliation with Beverly Hospital, Dr. Mann was an institutional leader who drove hospital efficiency and safety. She served actively on the Neonatal Hyperbilirubinemia Committee, the Electronic Medical Record Committee and Task Force, the hospital’s Medical Advisory Panel, and was the direct spearhead of the regional Diabetic Management Initiative.
Tributes to a Patient Advocate
To her patients, Dr. Mann was far more than a clinician; she was a patient, non-judgmental confidant who treated whole families from infancy through adulthood. Following the news of her passing, institutional colleagues and patients shared their immense gratitude for her work:
-
MFM Health Leadership: “Our mission has always been to make lives meaningfully better. Dr. Mann embodied that mission every day, delivering care with unmatched integrity, respect, and deep empathy. She was foundational to who we are.”
-
A Lifelong Patient: “Dr. Mann was amazing. She always took the time to listen to me and was incredibly thorough. She saw my children, too, and they absolutely adored her. I trusted her judgment implicitly.”
Family and Personal Life
Outside of her demanding clinical schedule and professional memberships in the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), Dana prioritized family above all else. Residing on the North Shore, she was a fixture at local youth sports leagues, regularly coaching her children in soccer and taking family ski trips. She was also a passionate cyclist who loved starting her mornings with Peloton rides.
Dr. Mann is survived by her loving husband, her children, her medical partners, and thousands of patients whose lives were made profoundly better by her care. MFM Health will provide details regarding an upcoming regional memorial service and patient tribute layout in the coming days.
